So it’s not JUST me who loves Australia. Oprah does too.

Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure

If you’ve not heard yet, the latest exciting news (especially for Tourism Australia and Qantas!) is that Oprah Winfrey is taking 300 of her ‘ultimate’ fans to Australia. Wow. Flying in a Qantas plane with John Travolta as the pilot (!) this is going to possibly top one of my trips Down Under 🙂

I think Oprah’s fans are excited about the Ultimate Australian Adventure she is taking them on!

There have been no half measures with this trip either. The 8-day trip is going to end in Sydney with an episode filmed at the Sydney Opera house which they will be renaming for the day (wait for it… bet you guessed already…) the Sydney Oprah House. Mad! You can read more about the announcement of the Australia trip on Oprah’s show here

If you want to get a feel for the excitement of this trip and the reaction from her 300 ultimate fans watch the video here

I am ashamed to say even I don’t get quite this hysterical when I book a holiday Down Under. But I am sure you all do, right?

Really that is some 300 excited people about to go on holiday to Australia. Now I cannot offer you Oprah but if you do want to go to Australia then sign up (top right of this page) and you’ll get all the latest flight and holiday offers and also check out our travel sponsors too (commercial over!).

So what if you want to go watch Oprah? – well the trip is going to be in December 2010 and ends with her filming in front the Opera/Oprah House on 14th December. Official Sydney Opera House press release here.

And you can sign up to find out when tickets will be available here – that’s tickets to be in the show audience by the way, not on the Qantas plane with ‘Captain John’. If you’re in Australia you can also apply through Channel Ten for tickets here. The tickets will be available as a lottery and that won’t happen until October.

So if combining seeing one of TV’s talk show icons, and frankly if you ask me all round amazing person Oprah, AND take a holiday to Australia, then December 2010 is your month. And you know what I am going to say now don’t you… book early as you can (even try the last few days of November) to get the best priced flights. And expect it to be busy on Circular Quay in Sydney (where the Opera House is) on 14th December 2010!
