Insider guide to Sydney, Australia.

Read a really good guide to Sydney over the weekend in the Sunday Times.

Clearly written by a local ‘Sydneysider’ it had some great tips for:

  • beaches
  • restaurants
  • cafes
  • things to see
  • suburbs to explore
  • shopping
  • countryside

Well worth a read if you’re heading to the lovely harbour city any time soon…

Some of the recommendations I can personally vouch for – definitely head out to the Blue Mountains for some bush walking and amazing scenery. We stayed here at the Falls Mountain Retreat and it was a great spot.

We’ve also taken the seaplane from Rose Bay which is a brilliant adventure and cracking for birds-eye view of Sydney Harbour. We took the flight out over Bondi and aside from the storm that was rolling in (!) was a fantastic experience.

I’ve also been known to squeeze myself into some Sass and Bide jeans and I love picking up clothes by Australian designers for something a little bit different.

We loved staying here in Sydney at Simpsons in Potts Point – a nice neighbourhood close enough to the centre of the city, but that also had its own great selection of cafes and restaurants.

And if you’re after hidden Sydney beaches don’t forget you can kayak to store beach from Manly.

Let me know what you love about Sydney and I’ll add that to the list!
