Mauritius as a sunny and relaxing stop-over to Australia

Just got back from Mauritius…

Wish I was still there… although another day longer, and the effect of the all-inclusive delicious food and yummy piña coladas would have meant no doing my jeans up for a while :) As it is, they are pretty tight!

So while we ‘only’ went to Mauritius on this trip, I know that you can easily incorporate it with a trip to Australia as Air Mauritius have connections through to Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. There are some prices here with Austravel from £875 return with the option to stop in Mauritius in both directions.

Amazing bargain air fare alert! £569 inc tax for a London—Sydney or Melbourne or Brisbane return

Saw this on an email from www.lastminute.com, and it’s coming up on www.cheapflights.co.uk too, as being available… £569 return to Sydney or Melbourne or Brisbane with Korean Air.

That is VERY VERY CHEAP!!

I haven’t seen an airfare in the £500s for a very long time. Next best fare I can see for a while is £633 to Perth with Emirates, and that is in 16th April—30th June 2009 (see Travelmood here), which is always the ‘low season’ for fares. Even then, Sydney is £759, so you can see what a bargain this is!
